JAKARTA, SEMARAKNEWS.CO.ID - Jokowi legally added to the rice social assistance budget for small people amounting to IDR 11 trillion and fertilizer subsidies amounting to IDR 24 trillion.

This was conveyed by his subordinate, namely the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, in a joint meeting with the DPR RI Budget Agency (Banggar).

Initially, 10 kilograms of rice social assistance will begin to be provided from the end of 2023 to March 2024.

However, the rice social assistance was extended again by Sri Mulyani, which was ratified by Jokowi until June 2025.

The provision of rice social assistance is based on the spike in rice prices that occurred globally.

"This payment will increase the costs by IDR 11 trillion," said Sri Mulyani during a working meeting with the DPR Budget Agency (Banggar) Wednesday, July 11 2024.

For additional fertilizer subsidies, he said the value would reach IDR 24 trillion by the end of the year. There is also additional spending to extend tax facilities borne by the government for the sale of tapa houses and flats amounting to IDR 500 billion.

"Spending sourced from foreign loans and domestic loans will be realized at IDR 105.9 trillion," said Sri Mulyani.

Apart from that, the former head of Bappenas said that for the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada, special spending will also be allocated from grants amounting to IDR 32.3 trillion. The funds are given from the regional government or local government to the KPU.

"Expenditures originating from grants for the implementation of the Pilkada, namely from the Regional Government to the KPU, reached IDR 32.3 trillion," said Sri Mulyani.
