Heru Budi wants all principals to continue to prioritize everyone's human rights.
Therefore, we will not impose sanctions on principals who recruit honorary teachers who do not comply with the regulations since 2017.
"This is how we talk about what has already happened in the future, so that's it, we have to be wise. Why be wise? This is a person's human right, he needs to work. If he has become a teacher and has children, that's enough to stop," he said at the Jakarta Velodrome on Sunday, July 21 2024.
Heru has not talked about teacher recruitment since 2017. Instead, he has discussed resolving the best matters for the future.

"After all, these 4 thousand are already teachers, right? The process, I don't want to know how, is what we fix, we give them their rights," he said.
Heru Budi Hartono appealed to school principals in Jakarta to no longer recruit honorary teachers without the knowledge of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. He said this action violated the rules.
"If there is a need, it should be reported to the Education Department, so that recruitment can be carried out according to the needs map," he said.
