This detention has raised many questions as to why the chairman of the Rembang DPRD was detained.
Reportedly, the chairman of the Rembang DPRD was detained by Saudi Arabian authorities because he was involved in an immigration raid by abusing his pilgrimage visa.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of the Rembang DPRD, M Bisri Cholil Laqouf.
"Yes, it is clear (immigration violations), because the visa is a pilgrimage visa, on May 23 it was closed for pilgrimages and so on, and is used for Hajj, starting May 23," he said in Rembang Tuesday, July 9 2024.

"He entered on the 3rd (June) or 4th (June) using a pilgrimage visa, and on the 9th June he was raided," he continued.
The DPRD deputy also provided information that was developing in Saudi Arabia. Supadi visited his friend's house, and it turned out that there was a raid at that location.
"So it was discovered that at his friend's house there were several documents, a computer, a printer, and there were several students who were studying there," he explained.
Currently, the government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided legal assistance to the United Development Party (PPP) politician.

"In this case, Supadi has been given legal assistance and is being escorted by the consul general to always actively communicate with the Saudi Arabian police so that the inkrah decision does not end up in court," he explained.
Previously it was reported that Supadi was taking leave from May 31 2024 to June 25 2024.
