Sekolah Mulai Aktif Tahun Ajaran Baru, Heru Budi: Jangan Ada Murid Senior Bully Junior!

JAKARTA, SEMARAKNEWS.CO.ID - Heru Budi left a message for teachers where the new school year 2024-2025 has started.

Heru reminded that in schools there should be no more cases of bullying which makes children mentally ill.

"I also entrust the following new teachings, no senior students should bully juniors. That is the teacher's responsibility and the parents' responsibility," he said at the Jakarta Velodrome on Sunday, July 21 2024.

Heru also admitted that he had discussed with several school principals regarding the shortage of teaching staff in certain institutions.

"There are some that essentially still lack teachers. However, there are schools where two principals said they don't have to recruit teachers, but that existing teachers should be given the knowledge that the school lacks," he said.

"In a meeting with school principals throughout DKI Jakarta, we said that the 4,000 honorary teachers would be processed to be recommended for Dapodik," said Heru.

Heru reminded that the number of 4,000 honorary teachers cannot increase any further because data collection will be completed in December 2023. This figure includes the 107 teachers affected by the restructuring. Therefore, school principals may not recruit new honorary teachers without the permission of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office (Disdik).

“However, the data must have a cut off date. "Earlier we agreed with the school principal that the cut off date was December 2023. That's what we are encouraging them to get their rights, namely Dapodik's recommendation," he said.

Apart from recommending Dapodik to 4,000 honorary teachers, Heru said that the DKI Education Department (Disdik) is opening vacancies for 1,700 Individual Work Contract (KKI) teachers in August 2024. He invited honorary teachers to register themselves so that they could be processed according to existing rules and mechanisms.

"In 2025, the DKI Provincial Government will reopen registration for KKI teachers. So another 2,300 honorary teachers can register. If the budget allows, the number will increase again. Apart from that, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also meet the need for teacher shortages in special schools or disabled," he said.
