"Today we reported several social media accounts that spread slander and defamed our client, sister Nurul Azizah. We ask that this case be followed up immediately by the police," said Azizah's attorney at National Police Headquarters, Thursday 22 August 2024.
The police report was received by the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri with Number: STTL/292/VIII/2024/BARESKRIM.
The article imposed by social media accounts that spread slander is Article 45 Paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27A of Republic of Indonesia Law No. 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Republic of Indonesia Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) and/or Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code.
"There are many accounts that spread slander, but we are eliminating them. Especially the main accounts that create threads or lots of posts that become references for other social media accounts to update their status," said Islanda.
