Gagal Sidang Pengesahan RUU Pilkada, DPR Ikuti Hasil Putusan MK Soal Pilkada 2024

JAKARTA, SEMARAKNEWS.CO.ID - After failing to hold a hearing to ratify the 2024 Pilkada Bill, the DPR said it was following the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the 2024 regional elections.

This was conveyed by Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

As we know, on Thursday 22 August 2024, the DPR failed to ratify the Regional Election Bill because many parties were unable to attend.

"We emphasize once again that because we are obedient and obedient and comply with the rules during registration, because the Pilkada Bill has not yet become law, what applies is the result of the Constitutional Court's judicial review decision submitted by the Labor Party and Gelora," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Thursday 22 August 2024. .

Dasco also explained that the DPR had canceled holding a Plenary Meeting to ratify the Regional Election Bill into law. 

The meeting could not be held because there was not a quorum of DPR members present.

"At 10.00, after experiencing a delay of 30 minutes, we were knocked that the Regional Election Bill could not be implemented, meaning that today the Regional Election Bill was canceled," he said.

"Therefore, in accordance with the applicable mechanism, if we want to have another Rapur, we must follow the stages regulated in accordance with DPR regulations and because on Tuesday 27 August we both know that we are at the stage of registering for the Pilkada," added Dasco.

Registration for the 2024 regional elections will open from 27 to 29 August. 

Registration of regional head candidate pairs is carried out at the respective regional KPU.
