"So it's not sirekap, sirekap is just a tool, hopefully this tool doesn't become a problem," he said.
Regarding problems and reports related to the Sirekap application, Bawaslu explained that his party was following up on them.
"We have found this but we are still studying the Sirekap problem," said Bagja.
For your information, the sirekap application has recently become a highlight among Indonesian people. In fact, report after report regarding oddities in the sirekap application continues to emerge among the public.
Responding to this, Bawaslu finally responded regarding this matter. This statement was made so that the public would not think negatively about the implementation of the 2024 elections.
As an independent election monitoring institution, Bawaslu has the responsibility to ensure integrity and transparency in the general election process. Therefore, Bawaslu has decided that manual counting will be the method used in the 2024 presidential election.
In this method, each vote will be counted manually by trained and independent officials. This step was taken to minimize the risk of error and ensure that the vote count results accurately reflect the will of the people.
Even though manual counting requires more time and effort compared to using the Sirekap application, Bawaslu believes that this is the right step to guarantee the validity of the election results. This decision is also in line with the mandate of Law Number 7 of 2017 which regulates the stages and process of implementing general elections.
