Reported from the Instagram account @mood.jakarta, a video can be seen showing the tension that occurred at the scene of the crime. It was explained that the incident began when a debt collector stopped an online motorcycle taxi driver.
The debt collector then forcibly pulled the motorbike belonging to the motorcycle taxi driver because he had fallen behind on his motorcycle installments. The online motorcycle taxi driver strongly rejected the forced withdrawal carried out by the debt collector.
The situation became increasingly heated until a dispute occurred between the two. After the two argued, not long after the debt collector ran and left his motorbike.
Other road users and motorcycle taxi drivers passing by the location of the incident were also involved in this commotion. They then threw the debt collector's motorbike into the river.
Together they lifted the motorbike and threw it into the river. They were so happy to see the debt collector's motorbike fall to the bottom of the river until it was no longer visible.
The police who received a report about this commotion immediately came to the location to quell the situation. However, according to the explanation of the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sawah Besar Police, AKP Sholeh, his party had come to the scene but the crowd had dispersed.
"Yesterday there was no report, but we went to the scene and it was finished, they had dispersed," said Sholeh.
Based on witness statements at the location, the incident was just a misunderstanding between the ojol driver and the debt collector and the debt collector's motorbike had been evacuated.
