As we know, yesterday, Thursday 22 August, the DPR canceled the ratification of the Regional Election Bill.
Yesterday the Indonesian people took to the streets to reject the Regional Election Bill which was to be passed by the DPR.
“I didn't go there (the Palace), I didn't meet Pak Jokowi. "You can check with journalist sources there, there is no urgency," said Dasco at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta on Thursday, August 22 2024.
Not only that, Dasco also said that the DPR would not hold a plenary session to ratify the Pilkada Bill before the registration period for regional head candidates opened.

"We feel that it is better (the plenary meeting) not to be held, because the registration period is already in effect," said Dasco.
Dasco also said that registration for regional head candidates would soon open on August 27.
While the Regional Election Bill has not yet been passed into law on that date, the applicable regulations are the result of the decision of the Constitutional Court.
"Because the Pilkada Bill has not yet become law, what applies is the result of the MK judicial review decision submitted by the Labor Party and Gelora," said Dasco.
