This combination not only enhances the taste of salads and sandwiches but also maximizes the bioavailability of key nutrients.

2. Apple and dark chocolate

Apples with dark chocolate are not only appetizing, but also contribute to a healthy diet.

"The anti-inflammatories important for heart health found in apples and the powerful antioxidants found in dark chocolate fight blood clots, improve circulation and reduce the chance of heart disease," explains the nutritionist.

To enjoy the food combination, melt dark chocolate and layer it over apple slices or enjoy as a dip.
